the things that are me

This week my roommate’s were challenged to write a blog about the things they enjoy in life. I’ve loved reading their blogs and understanding more of who they are. So I decided to hop on board.

Jesus is currently walking me through a season of really recognizing and being thankful for the way He has created me – including the things in life that I love!

So I hope you enjoy this and I hope you learn a few new things about me.

Coffee. This needs no explanation.

Mountains. There is so much majesty and beauty in them. I always feel at peace and at home when I am near mountains. And God continually uses them to speak to me.

Morning glories are my favorite.

Forever and Always part of the Gator Nation.

Coffee Shops. I love the environment and the space. Especially ones that have couches and cozy areas. Even better if it is a rainy day and I am curled up with a book and hot drink. Obviously the love is real.

Thai food! I could eat it every day, especially pad thai!

Waterfalls! They are beautiful and I love the idea that they are constantly changing and you never see the exact same waterfall because the water is constantly moving and flowing.

Elephants are one of my favorite animals. They are so cool!

Mangos! My favorites are from Malawi.

Adventure – let’s go hike a volcano and toast marshmallows at the top, go for a hike, shark cage diving or anything else – I’m game!

Whitewater Rafting! This is one of my favorite adventurous activities. One day I will raft the Colorado and Nile Rivers.

Cozy Sweaters – the best ones come from the men’s section of thrift stores.

I love stargazing, especially when I see shooting stars. Malawi was my favorite place for stargazing.

I love traveling and there are so many more places I want to go!

Photography – I really enjoy it. I especially enjoy capturing people and culture.

Fields of Wildflowers – my happy place.

Hammocking: great for reading…which then turns to napping.

Books – I love to read and I love to collect books.

Hand-lettering – it’s something I began on the race and love to do.

I really enjoy being artistic and creative although the majority time I have no idea what I am doing.

I also love collecting different art supplies and trying out new items/techniques.

Selfies. Specifically taking them on other people’s phones when they leave them laying around. Watch out or you could have your very own set of 50 pictures of my beautiful face! And I also secretly love finding selfies of others on my phone unexpectedly. I’m slightly afraid of announcing that to the world and the consequences this could hold.

Fun Journals and they must be unlined! I really dislike the constraints of lines.

I love to bake, and I especially love to share what I bake with others. I also enjoy cooking and creating delicious and healthy meals. Although I still get intimidated to cook for others.

Penguins! They are my other favorite animal and seeing them in their natural habitat is on my bucket list.

Fun mugs! I want to have an eclectic mug collection, no two can match.

Teal/Turquoise/ Seafoam Green or any variation is my favorite. It doesn’t matter what it is. It’s my favorite.

Stripes and Aztec my favorite prints. I’m always drawn to them.

Folk/Acoustic Music. Bonus if it includes a banjo.

Lakes and Rivers. If you haven’t figured it out, I really love nature and love the peacefulness of being in it.

Living with people. Yes, I am an introvert but I also need to be around people. Maybe it was the race that did this to me but even if we aren’t even talking, I love to be near other people. So I really love living with a house full of people right now.
