And so CGA begins

A week ago I made the move to Gainesville, Georgia. I’ve been with Adventures long enough to know that their idea of bonding is throwing us all into the woods and testing our survival and team work skills.

So that is how I spent the past few days: hiking trails, carrying my overpacked backpack, sleeping in a hammock, and cooking over a campfire.

The purpose of sending us all out into the woods was to allow us time away from distractions of life and to be alone with the Lord and our thoughts.

The third day into our hike was spent entirely alone, praying, and talking with Jesus. It was a refreshing day to spend processing the things he is teaching me and preparing for this new season of my life. And I also learned that when I am alone for an extended period of time in the woods at night my imagination gets the best of me by dreaming of bears crawling into my hammock to snuggle.

I’m excited for this new season and how Jesus is going use it to equip me for my future adventures.

Today was spent doing all things orientation and Monday we dive head first into all that God has for me in this season.

And these are the lovely people I will be spending the next few months with!
